Singapore Post have issued a beautiful pouch shaped miniature sheet featuring the world's first beaded stamp on 08 April 2008. The stamp has been intricately hand pasted with 'caviar beads' which has been inspired by the exquisite bead work representing the distinctive aspect of the Peranakan culture. The Peranakans, reputed for their creativity, have use brilliantly colored miniscule glass beads to create intricate designs on anything from slippers to tobacco pouches.
