Liechtenstein 2020 Chrysokoll Personal Stamp with Crystal

A special issue Personal stamp created by the Philatelic company Hermann E Sieger GmbH as part of a subscription service, and issued by Liechtenstein Post, a Chrysokoll crystal stuck to the stamp featuring a background picture of a Steam Engine locomotive "Jupiter" on the stamp.

China 2020 40th National Stamp Popularity Poll Miniature sheet with NFC technology

China Post has issued its first postage stamp incorporating an NFC (near field communication) chip titled "In Commemoration of the 40th National Stamp Popularity Poll".

The miniature sheet has an ultrathin 120 micrometre NFC chip inserted within it. Stamp Collectors can download a digital app from China Post which can be scanned on any digital device with NFC functionality. By placing their device close to the number "40" that is on the stamp's face, the app will authenticate the stamp and provide information such as its serial number.  It is the world's first postage stamp with a read-write chip (note the words read-write chip - indicating the NFC can be written on with information from the China Post App). The NFC chip incorporated on the Humming Bird Stamp by Caribbean Netherland Post is a read-only NFC Chip.

NFC technology allows for the contactless exchange of data over close distances. Invented during the early 21st century, it has been commonly used around the world in areas such as the mobile payment and anti-counterfeit measure fields. 

Have tried to find the China Post App but have not yet been available to find the link to the stamp for download. However, have tried reading the NFC chip with a third party NFC App available on the Net just to detect the NFC Chip on the miniature sheet.

You can see the embedded chip when raised the stamp against a light source and you will see the shadow of the embedded NFC chip in the miniature sheet

Tried to check the stamp serials with a Smartphone with NFC detection capability but it gives a message of Error in Reading the NFC chip. I guess I need to find the China Post App.

Austria 2020 Covid 19 Toilet Paper Stamp

Issue date 30 October 2020 

Austria Post has paid tribute to the Global Pandemic Response to the Covid 19 virus by issuing a miniature sheet with a stamp printed on Toilet Paper (where the bathroom tissue was a global symbol for an early pandemic struggle).

The stamp features a scaled measure of “1 meter,” which is the amount of space, local health officials have ordered between individuals in public spaces — as well as the average length of a baby elephant.

Austria 2020 - Ski Tip Stamp 

Issue Date 23 October 2020

Austria Post in a tribute to Skiing as a sport has issued an unusual odd-shaped stamp in the form of a ski tip made with a genuine ski coating.

As in the production of actual skis - a thin layer of aluminum-plastic composite was cut out to the shape of a ski tip using a CNC-controlled milling machine. The silvery surface of this aluminum composite was brushed, and when viewed from the side looks like the edges of a ski. Then a special acrylic glue was used to apply the yellow original ski coating, specially adapted in strength for the stamp.

To commemorate Croatian Stamp Day, Croatian Post has issued it's first Crytpo Stamp in cooperation with the Croatian blockchain community gathered around the Blockchain and Cryptocurrency Association. The stamp has been issued in five categories, with five different motifs depicting various means of transport: a van (60,000 stamps), a train (25,000 stamps), a ship (10,000 stamps), an airplane (4,000 stamps), and a drone (1,000 stamps).

New Zealand 2020 The Four Wind

New Zealand Post, in celebration of Matariki, has tried to highlight stories associated with Ngā Hau e Whā or The Four Winds with the issue  of a limited edition special Gold Foil miniature sheet featuring an artist rendition of the four Winds with four stamps issued. The four winds are Te Hau Rāwhiti (the easterly), Te Hau-ā-uru (the westerly), Te Hau Tonga (the southerly) and Te Hau Raki (the northerly). Hau can mean air, breath, aura, but it is best known as wind.

New Zealand 2020 Ross Dependecies - Seasons of Scott Base

New Zealand Post has issued a special set of 4 stamps which highlights the different states of light captured in winter, spring, summer and autumn in Scott Base on Ross Island, Antarctica, with heat-activated ink revealing the stunning sights of the southern skies. 

Antarctica is most often described as having only two distinct seasons – summer and winter.
