Switzerland 2014 Pipilotti Rist Stamp sheet with design perforations

Issue date 13 Nov 2014

Pipilotti Rist, a Swiss Video Artist, has designed as stamp sheet dedicated to the five senses featuring a tongue.

The sheetlet also features other four senses - Sight (Eye), Hearing (Ear), Touch (Fingerprint) and Smell (Nose) in the form of design perforations on the Sheet.

Our tongue can differentiate between 5 types of taste : Sweet, Sour, Salty, Bitter and Umami. Right you say - "New Taste Word learnt". What is Umami you say? Umami is known for the last few years, it is the taste of glutamate, a substance found in many foods that makes us perceive a food as strong in taste like parmesan cheese, Soya sauce or stock. Different areas of the tongue are responsible for recognizing the five flavors.
