Lottery Stamps are usually stamps sold with a chance to win a prize. Was contemplating to introduce this category for a long time but never got to it.. Will recategorize some of the earlier post with scratch and win stamps to include this category of Stamps.

Japan Post has issued its annual Lunar New Year of the Horse Lottery Prize Stamps. A set of 4 stamps were issued of which 2 stamps has a unique number in the selvage attached. These numbers if winning usually offers prizes from Japan Post The draw date for the Japan Post New Year's lottery stamps (nengajo) in 2026 is scheduled for January 19, 2026. The winning numbers are typically announced on the official Japan Post website.
Prizes typically range from cash and e-money to gift catalogs and special stamp sheets.
These stamps are first in my collection though I have posted stamps earlier which were special stamp sheets won in the lottery.
