China 2026-3 15th China International Garden Expo Scented Stamps

Issue date 15 April 2026

China Post to commemorate the 15th China International Garden Expo held in Wenzhou, Zhejiang Province, from April to July 2026, has issued a special sheetlet with 12 embossed Stamps along with a lingering floral fragrance due to the use of Camelia scented ink.

The stamp features botanical elements such as green trees, camellias and mandarins, alongside the garden landscapes and official logo of the Garden Expo.

Australia 2016 Nostalgic Fruit Recipes Prestige Booklet with scented Stamps

Apple Scented stamps (Rub and Sniff) - only these stamps are scented. The other 4 sheets are not scented

Australia Post as part of its Annual Impression Series has issued a special scratch and Sniff Apple Scented postage stamps of old Fruit Lables in a special Prestige Booklet titled Nostalgic Fruit Recipes. The stamps in this booklet is a replication of old Fruit Box Labels on a stamp which was issued as normal stamps earlier on 07 June 2016 under the Nostalgia Fruit Labels stamps.

Spain 2024 Strawberry Train Madrid-Aranjuez Scented Stamps

Correos Spain has issued a special strawberry-scented stamp on the Strawberry Train to commemorate the historic train line from Madrid to Aranjuez (famous for local Strawberries). 

The Strawberry train connects the Capital of Spain Madrid to the Mediterranean Sea (Aranjuez). Currently the train makes a tourist route where passengers can enjoy a pleasant trip from the 19th-century Delicias station in Madrid to the Aranjuez station.

The die cut odd shaped miniature sheet features 6 stamps of the Strawberry Train.

Switzerland 2025 Swiss Inventions - Toilet Duck Cleaner Scented Stamp

Swiss Post to commemorate Swiss Inventions has issued a Special Stamp featuring the Duck toilet cleaning dispenser. The Stamp gives out the smell of citrus cleaning scent when gently rubbed with fingers.

The toilet cleaning bottle with a curved “duck” neck was invented by Walter-Düring-Orlob in Switzerland in 1980. This innovative bottle design is now a worldwide bathroom phenomenon.

France 2025 Croissant Scented Stamps

Belarus 2025 Woodland Strawberries scented stamps

Belarus Post has issued a set of 2 special stamps featuring the Strawberry plant/fruit printed with special varnish with the aroma of wild strawberries.

This is my first unusual stamps from Belarus. Also a souvenir sheet was issued with the 2 stamps

Curacao 2021 South American Horses - Lusitano Horse Scented Stamp

Curacao Post has issued a set of 6 Stamps featuring South American Horse breeds - Lusitano’ (70c), English thoroughbred (Cat.1), Friesian horse (Cat.2-left), Shire horse (Cat.2-right), Quarter horse (334c), ‘Andalusiër’ (478c), and the ‘Paso Fino’ (746c). 

The 70c Lusitano Stamp has a special varnish which has the scent of the horse. (My wife sniffed, said it has a smell of horse hair and turned away - need to rub the varnish a bit - I smelled a faint smell of it the first time around but it was a huge whiff when the varnish was rubbed) Don't know if the scent will hold after a few years that is if I remember to rub the varnish

Austria 2024 Diana with Menthol Stamp

Austria Post to commemorate an Age old brand Diana with Menthol, issued a special stamp enhanced with a Menthol scented varnish commemorating the brand.

In 1897, a Hungarian pharmacist from the "Diana Pharmacy" discovered the versatile effects of Franzbranntwein rubbing alcohol infused with menthol. This product is registered in the Austrian trademark register in 1907 as DIANA with Menthol (under the pharmacy's name). DIANA with menthol brand was acquired by the Austrian company Unipack GmbH, owned by the Burghart family in 2014. 

DIANA with menthol is used as a rub for releasing muscle tension, providing an invigorating and cooling effect. Menthol is extracted from the leaves of the peppermint plant or other mint species. It is known for its cooling sensation and minty aroma.

South Africa 2010 International Stamp Show Joburg 2010 : Celebrating print techniques on South Africa stamps

At the South Africa,  Joburg 2010 International Stamp Show, South African post issued a miniature sheet with each stamp showcasing the different print techniques used on South African Stamps. 

First South African Stamp – Reprint of the first stamp of the Union of South Africa, issued on 10 November 1910 for the opening of the First Union Parliament. It was a 2 1⁄2d stamp which portrayed the monarch King George V along with the logo arms of the four British colonies which formed the Union: Cape Colony, Natal, Orange River Colony and Transvaal. 

First South African stamp using Rotogravure printing process. Reprint of 1927 - 1s stamp featuring two large African antelopes Gnus.

First South African stamp using Letterpress printing process – Reprint of 1929 Biplane 4d Stamp issued on16 August 1929 with South Africa inscribed bilingually on the Stamp.   

First South African stamp using Process colour – Reprint of 1963 - 50 years of Kirstenbosch Botanic Gardens in Cape Town on a 2 ½ c multicolored Stamp featuring Red Disa Orchid (Disa uniflora) with table mountain on the background issued on 14 March 1963. Multicolour printing process.

First South African stamp printed with Gold Foil – Reprint of 1970 – 150th anniversary of Bible Society of South Africa Stamp celebrating the Year of the Bible issued on 20 August 1970 featuring an open book on a 12 ½ C stamp. Combination of photogravure and embossing with gold foil printing process.

First South African stamp printed using intaglio printing process – Reprint of 1974 Voortrekker Monument and Encampment 4c Stamp issued 6 December 1974 commemorating the 25th anniversary of Voortrekker Monument (Monument to the Pioneers) in Pretoria.

First South African Stamp printed using Offset Lithography printing process – Reprint of 1974 100th Anniversary of the first official coin struck in South Africa, the Burger’s pond, a one-pound sterling gold coin on a 9-cent stamp issued on 6 April 1974.

First Stamp in the world printed using Superlitho printing process. Reprint of a stamp issued in a 1997 Year of Cultural Artifacts miniature sheet which featured a Tswana Knife handle on a Stamp. 

First South African Stamp printed with Braille – Reprint of 2005 Prevent Blindness Braille Stamp issued on 20 November 2005 featuring the word HELLO embossed in Braille.

First South African Stamp printed with a fragrance – Reprint of a 2008 South African Nanaqualand Flowers Stamp set which featured a Karoo Gazania Daisy flower self-adhesive stamp, issued on August 22, 2008. The flower on the stamp is a Karoo Gazania Daisy or (Gazania rigida).

First South African Stamp embossed and printed gold foil – Reprint of 2009 - 75th Anniversary of South African Airways Stamp Set - issued on 13 March 2009 featuring the Captains Badge & Insignia on an embossed and printed gold foil Stamp.

First South African Stamp printed with a 3D effect – Reprint of 2009 3D Anaglyph Dinosaurs Stamp issued on 2 November 2009. Two views of the picture was printed in two colours, usually red for the left eye and blue or green for the right that required special glasses with red and green (or blue) lenses for 3D viewing.

Indonesia 2024 Asian International Stamp Exhibition Scented Stamps

Issue date 3-7 July 2024

Indonesia Post to commemorate the 2024 Asian International Stamp Exhibition and Competition has issued a set of 5 rose scented Souvenir sheet for each day of the 5 day event. The souvenir sheet is printed with Glow in the Dark under UV printing on all the sheets and varnish has been applied to some areas of the Sheet.

Special thanks to Irene Chen for her help in obtaining these sheets. The sheets are numbered 0453/1000.
