Switzerland 2022 - Swiss Inventions Barryvox

The Barryvox device is electronic version of Barry (the name of the famous dog from the Great St Bernard hospice) who is said to have saved the lives of 40 people. Barryvox is an avalanche beacon device, used to locate and rescue people caught up in avalanches as quickly as possible.

Swiss post to commemorate this Swiss Invention where Swiss electrical engineer and SAC tour guide Felix Meier played a key role in the development of the device up to its current version, the Barryvox® S by Mammut. 

The miniature sheet conveys both the fascination with but also the dangers of skiing and snowboarding in the High Alps. The special finish (Iridescent Ink) on the sheet provides a sparkling effect to the rushing snow of the avalanche and a slight tilt to the sheet shows the drama of a rescue helicopter picking up people stranded in an avalanche through ropes. Switzerland 2023 Swiss Inventions - Hook and Loop Fastener - Miniature Sheet

Swiss Post to commemorate a Swiss invention of the Hook and Loop Fastener (common brand name Velcro TM) by Vaud engineer George de Mestral, has issued a special miniature sheet which features : a little piece of hook and loop fastener attached to the stamp.

Chunghwa Post has issued a special souvenir sheet to show the attraction of tourism in Taiwan based on famous landmarks - 

1.Tofu Rocks on Heping Island (NT$6) 

2. Ginkgo Trees at Wuling Farm (NT$8)

3. Tea Plantations on Alishan (NT$9)

4. Dawn at Sanxiantai (NT$10)

The souvenir sheet is shaped like a wave, exuding a tea fragrance on its selvage area of the souvenir sheet. Chunghwa Post has issued this souvenir sheet at the TAIPEI 2023 – 39th Asian International Stamp Exhibition is held on August 11-15, 2023, at Taipei World Trade Center Exhibition Hall 1.
