Andorra France 2010 Europa Stamps - Children's Book Mirror Stamps

As part of the Europa Series, French Andorra Post has issued a special stamp featuring the Mirror in the Children Book of Snow White with the words on the side of the mirror "Mirror Mirror Say Who is..." with hot metal foil stamping with a reflective coating.

Jersey 2013 Superman Multi-Sensory Stamp set

The Jersey Post has issued a set of Superman Stamps Set ahead of the release of the latest Superman film, Man of Steel, which stars Henry Cavill who comes from Jersey.

The Stamp set consists of 6 stamps featuring Superman's various super powers and a lenticular miniature sheet. The miniature sheet - 3 GBP features a lenticular stamp which when tilted shows the Man of Steel flying across the stamp.

The 45p stamp features a close up of Cavill, triggering an augmented reality app through Smartsy.(2024 update - the smartsy app not available for download as with all other Augmented Reality apps)

The 55p transparent stamp illustrates Superman’s most famous power – flying.

The 60p stamp with Simili silver foiling reflecting the Man of Steel’s strength.

The 68p stamp, a Heat Sensitive stamp is printed on monochromic ink, which when warmed reveals the earth behind Superman. (See below whole sheet has the Earth area blacked out)

The 80p stamp, a thermographic stamp uses actual crushed granite from Beauport Bay, which is Cavill’s favourite spot in Jersey.

The 88p Stamp, features a hidden message from Superman's father Jor-El which is visible only in the dark (glow in dark invisible ink used).

Australia 2022 The Queen's Jubilee Precious Metal Prestige Cover

Australia Post has issued a special First Day Cover to mark the Platinum Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II with contains 4 precious metal stamps including one stamp with a cubic Zirconia crystal attached.

The four precious metal stamps include a 99.9% silver stamp featuring the 1977 Silver Jubilee 18c stamp,  a 99.9% Gold Stamp featuring the 2002 Golden Jubilee 45c stamp, a 99.9% Silver Stamp featuring the 2012 Diamond Jubilee 60c stamp which includes a cubic zirconia crystal in the Queen's Diadem, and a 99.9% Platinum Stamp featuring the 2022 Queen's Platinum Jubilee $1.10 stamp.

New Zealand 2020 The Four Wind

New Zealand Post, in celebration of Matariki, has tried to highlight stories associated with Ngā Hau e Whā or The Four Winds with the issue  of a limited edition special Gold Foil miniature sheet featuring an artist rendition of the four Winds with four stamps issued. The four winds are Te Hau Rāwhiti (the easterly), Te Hau-ā-uru (the westerly), Te Hau Tonga (the southerly) and Te Hau Raki (the northerly). Hau can mean air, breath, aura, but it is best known as wind.

China 2002 FIFA World Cup

Issue date 16 May 2002

China Post to commemorate the 2002 FIFA World Cup to be held in Republic of Korea and Japan from 31st May to 30th June has issue 2 sets of stamps with silver foil printing. This was the first time the World Cup was being held in Asia and the first time for a Chinese Team to debut in the tournament.

Spain 2019 50th Anniversary Moon Landing

To commemorate Spanish contribution to the Moon Landing 50 years ago, Correos Post has issued a special miniature sheet with cold foil printing giving the sheet a metallic effect combined with Augmented Reality printing technology. The Augmented Reality can be viewed through the App 
‘Sellos RA Correos’ which can be downloaded on the mobile

At the height of the first moon landing, it was the Fresnedillas station ( Madrid Apollo , in the technical jargon of NASA), and its men who had the responsibility and honor to directly help the descent of the Eagle and its crew Armstrong and Aldrin. Armstrong's words: "The Eagle has landed." Were first heard in Fresnedillas before being heard in Houston. 

Spain was a major contributor through the Spanish National Institute of Aerospace Technology (INTA), which provided monitoring and control stations in Fresnedillas and Robledo (Madrid), and Maspalomas (Gran Canaria). Spanish technicians, with the Americans, constantly monitored the vital signs of the astronauts, and processed the avalanche of data that were being received from the Moon, while transmitting numerous instructions to correct their course and specify the place and time of the Moon landing. Not without merit, this irreplaceable support was called “The vital link”.

Australia - 2016 Span World Tour of Bridges Booklet

Issue date 15 March 2016

Australia Post issued three $1 domestic-rate stamps featuring metropolitan bridges - Tasman Bridge, Gladesville Bridge and Story Bridge.

The Tasman Bridge built in 1964 - a five-lane bridge crossing the Derwent River, Hobart Tasmania.

The Gladesville Bridge over the Parramatta River in Sydney, NSW and built in 1964.

The longest cantilever bridge in Australia, Story Bridge was opened in 1940 and is set in Brisbane, Queensland.

The booklet features an aluminium stamp page topcoated with Vinyl primer having an adhesive backing.

North Korea 2017 40th Anniversary of Joining the ICAO

Issue date 14 September 2017

The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea joined on 15 September 1977 the Convention on International Civil Aviation (ICAO).  North Korea commemorated the 40th anniversary of its joining ICAO in 2017 by issuing a miniature sheet with one stamp featuring Air Koryo Tupolev Tu-204 with the flag of North Korea on the tail on the stamp with Pyongyang Sunan International Airport Building on the souvenir sheet printed on aluminium foil.

10000 copies of the perforated stamp sheets were printed while 1000 copies of the imperforate stamp sheets were printed.

Switzerland 2017 Letter vs E-mail Selfie Stamp sheet

Swiss Post in a competition with the students completing a consolidation course in visual communication at the Zurich University of the Arts, has designed a special sheet of 20 stamps which form a tablet that reflects the face of the observer giving the impression of taking a selfie.

The stamps have been printed on reflective Aluminium Silver foil.

Bolivia 1986  Construction of Railway between Uncia & Antofagasta on Tin Foil Miniature Sheet      

Issue date 25 September 1986

Correos Bolivia has issued 2 sheets to commemorate the Construction of Railway line between Uncia & Antofagasta in the 1920s which helped to bring the tin ore mined in the high plain city of Uncia, Bolivia to the Port City of Antofagasta in Chile to be sent to the Tin Refining factories in Europe by sea .

The 2 sheets has been printed on a tin foil depicting the old locomotive and sailing ship on one sheet and the new locomotive being currently used and the modern ship being used to transport the tin ore.

New Zealand 2016 Southern Lights with Silver Foil Printing

The Southern Lights or Aurora Australis is a spellbinding natural light show that produces shimmering sheets of colourful light that appear to dance across the sky. 

The stamps in the miniature sheet have been produced using a special silver foil, which replicates the shimmering effect of the Southern Lights.

This stunning stamp issue features six stamps - each featuring a photograph of the Southern Lights at the Aoraki Mackenzie International Dark Sky Reserve. Each stamp shows a different view of the Southern Lights, with the various colours and patterns of shimmering light clearly evident in these stunning photographs.
