India 2024 Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Temple Miniature sheet with Sandalwood Scent

India Post has issued a special odd shaped Miniature sheet to commemorate the inauguration of the Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Temple in Ayodhya. The sheet has been printed with sandalwood scent and the printing ink has used water from the holy river Saryu and soil from the holy city of Ayodhya, Gold foiling has been done in certain sections.

India Post has issued a coffee-scented INR100 stamp featuring  coffee beans, a cup of the brew and the word COFFEE.

The Stamp has a faint smell of coffee.

India 2015 3rd India Africa Forum Summit Gold foil - Copper foil embossed stamp

On the occasion of the  "3rd India Africa Forum Summit" at New Delhi, India, India Post released a set of 6 commemorative stamps on an innovative miniature sheet with hot foil stamping and embossing. The Indian Rhino, African Rhino and Black Buck are Hot foil stamped with Gun metal foil, the two Lions with Gold foil and the Thomson Gazelle with Copper foil and all these stamps are embossed.

India 2015 - My Stamps - Taj Mahal - Agra

My Stamp with the Taj Mahal Stamp was printed at Mumbai General Post Office (G.P.O) with a picture taken of me with my wife at Taj Mahal Agra when I visited India recently. 

Tried getting the same done at the Taj Mahal (small post office kiosk within the entrance area to the Taj Mahal) but was not successful. They only sold Post Cards and Stamps which you could post to any where in the world. Posted a card to myself from there (See below).

Tried again at the Agra Main Post Office but they did not have the My Stamp sheet with the Taj Mahal Stamp printed on it. 

Finally got it done in Mumbai as I remembered having seen it during my visit for the Mumbaipex 2015 Stamp exhibition earlier. Fortunately the My Stamp sheet with the Taj Mahal Stamp was not sold out and I had it printed with one of my pictures at the Taj Mahal - Agra which itself is one of the most beautiful and breath taking place on earth.

Here are some of the personalised Stamps issued by India Post just before I left India. You get personalised stamps from many countries. Most allow images and company logos to be printed. Artwork is a bit iffy depending on each country allowing it.

India My Stamp 2013 Flower Series

The personalised stamp from India Post is available at Mumbai General Post Office on a regular basis for Rs.300. You just need to carry your passport sized photograph or carry a copy on a usb-drive in a.jpeg image and you are ready to go. However there are facilities to click your photograph too. Of course you also need to carry a photo id proof to enable you to a personalised stamp. So if you are planning to visit Mumbai India, do not forget to visit the Mumbai GPO. Right now they are not entertaining mail request.
