Spain 2020 Apple Cider Falvoured stamp

In continuation of the Gastronomy Series, Correos Spain has highlighted the specialities of the Asturia Region - Cabrales cheese, 

Gamonéu cheese, Afuega'l Pitu cheese, and Casín cheese are the famous cheese made in this region. 

Asturian cider is also a famous product of this region. 

Asturian Faba, with Protection is a dry bean that must have a minimum length of 18 mm has been featured in many recipes.

Both the Cider and Faba has been featured in the above stamp. One of the stamps collects the image of a spoonful of fabada coming out of the plate; the other, to a glass of cider at the moment of receiving the liquid to be poured.

The stamp also features the flavor of Cider when licked on the area printed with the cider material on the stamp which can be viewed at an angle (seen in video below).

Spain 2018 - Protected Denominations of Origin - Guijuelo ham and Ribera del Duero wine

Correos Spain has issued a special Ham flavored gum minisheet with two stamps commemorating the Protected Designation of Origin of Ribera del Duero wine and the Protected Designation of Origin of Guijuelo Ham.

Hongkong 2017 - Children Stamps - Five Senses

Issue date 18 July 2017 

Hong Kong Post has issued a set of special stamps, entitled “Children Stamps – The Five Senses” with different printing effects to depict the five senses of hearing, sight, smell, taste and touch. 

HK$1.70 – The stamp for “Hearing” has sand powder applied to its surface by thermography. Rubbing the surface will make a sound.

HK$2.20 – The stamp for "Sight" has the round lens of the camera removed by die-cutting so you can peep in the hole and see the world through the lens of the camera.

HK$2.90 – The stamp for “Smell” is peach-scented.

HK$3.70 – The gum on the back of the stamp for “Taste” is vanilla-flavoured.

HK$5 – The basketball on the stamp for “Touch” is augmented by applying heat inflating ink (Thermography) to simulate the feel of a real basketball.

Issue date 9 June 1956

The 1956 Summer Olympics (Games of the XVI Olympiad) was held in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. As part of the special occasion, Deutsche Post issued a special stamp which had a special peppermint flavored gum.

Germany 1956 200th birthday of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart Peppermint flavored Gum Stamp

Issue date 27 January 1956 

On the occasion of the Birth Bicentenary of the famous Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Deutsch Post had issued a special 10pf stamp depicting the piano with a piece of Mozart composed music. The stamp had a special peppermint flavored gum.

Germany 1955 Adalbert Stifter peppermint flavored gum

Issue date 22 October 1955

Deutsche Post  to commemorate the 150th Anniversary of the Birth of the Austrian poet Adalbert Stifter (1805-1868) has issued a 10 Pf. denomination stamp with peppermint flavored gum on the back. This was first in the series of stamps issued by Deutsche Post (German postal authorities) which featured a peppermint gum backed stamps.

EIRE Post issued a set of 5 innovative stamps featuring the human senses of sight, hearing, taste, smell, and touch.

The 70c stamp features Taste where strawberry flavored gum has been applied to the back of the stamp.

The €1.05 stamp features Touch – where thermochromic ink has been used, so that when the hand illustration is touched, it changes color.

The €1.25 stamp feature Sight – printed on transparent paper, when you pick up the stamp you can see through it.

The €1.70 stamp feature Hearing with thermography so that when the stamp is rubbed it creates a sound.

The €2.80 stamp feature Smell with a mint fragrance has been added to the surface of the stamp.

Spain 2014 Spanish Gastronomy MS with stamps featuring a flavored Gum with essence of Mandarin flower and the Almond flavor.

At the National Stamp Fair in Madrid which took place from 24th to 27th April at the Plaza Mayor in Madrid, Correos dedicated the issue of 2 miniature sheet to Spanish Gastronomy in collaboration with Spanish Chef  Ferran Adrià. The stamps incorporate a scent and taste of mandarin/tangerine flower and Almond on the gum.

In addition to this curious stamp collection, the Spanish Post Office has also launched a book entitled, “Gastronomía con sello propio”, featuring photographs and illustrations of Spanish gastronomy – in addition to other content, as well as recipes from some of  Spain’s best chefs, including: Juan Mari and Elena Arzak, Pedro Subijana, Martín Berasategui, Joan Roca, Sergi Arola, Toño Pérez, Quique Dacosta, Eneko Atxa, David Muñoz and Ferran Adrià.

The souvenir sheet which represents the traditional and innovative Spanish cuisine includes two round stamps, which appear on a background on which there is a kitchen, and on the foreground, the cook Ferran Adrià, who is regarded as the best cook in the world. One of the stamps is dedicated to a traditional Spanish recipe, the 'ajoblanco', while the other to a creation of the restaurant El Bulli clalled “350/ ajoblanco 1996”. In this case, its taste and smell recreate that of the almond, its main ingredient.

The souvenir sheet about the innovative and traditional Spanish products sets a contrast between a traditional Iberian ham dish and an innovative tangerine flower and its fruit. In this case, the stamp’s gum has a tangerine’s taste and smell.

Portugal 2009 - Stamps and the Senses - Bicentenary of Birth of Louis Braille - Multi-sensory Set 

Issue date 2 October  2009   

Portugal Post issued a set of 5 stamps to commemorate the 200 years celebration of Louis Braille. The stamps features various attributes of the 5 senses - Hear, Taste, Smell, Feel and Sight.

The first stamp - € 0.32 features a cup of coffee which gives out the aroma of coffee (Smell). 

The second stamp - € 0.68 depicts a Vanilla ice cream stick with a Vanilla flavoured adhesive on the reverse (Taste).

The third stamp - € 0.80 features holographic images on the spectacle lenses which change according to the position of the stamp (Sight).

The fourth stamp - € 1.00 provides a feel of the embossed paste (ink) coming out of the tube (Touch).

The fifth stamp - € 2.00 shows a file where the ear is sensitive to the noise made by the file when the file's rough surface is rubbed (Hear).

Belgium 2013 Chocolate flavored glue and Chocolate scented ink

Issue date 25 March 2013

The Belgian post office released 538,000 stamps on 25 March 2013 that have pictures of chocolate on the front but the essence of Cocoa oil in the glue at the back for taste and in the ink for smell. The series of five stamps cost €6.20.
