Morocco 2012 Centenary of Morocco First Stamp with interactive codes
Issue date 22 May 2012
To commemorate 100 years of the first Moroccan Stamp, Morocco Post has issued 2 special stamps with interactive codes. These codes could be read by a special optical pen reader (trying to find out more about this) or by a smartphone using the Chameleon eXplorer (now no longer available for download).
The first stamp when read with the reader pen/ smartphone plays the National Anthem of Morocco while the second stamp when read plays the fictional song 'Tbourida'.
The folder in my collection has the 2 stamps, 2 First Day covers with the cancelled stamp and instructions on how to listen to the audio read by the smartphone from the codes printed on the stamp. Too bad the app for the smartphone has not been updated for use with current smartphones.
Note - will try and find the pen to upload a video of the same. Just the purpose of this blog to record for perpetuity. As of publishing date on this blog, the Scanner App (Chameleon eXplorer) is no longer available for download on Smartphones making it impossible to scan the stamps for the Audio information.
