Estonia 2020 100 years of Olympic Gold silver stamp

Estonia Post to commemorate the first Olympic games gold winner Alfred Neuland (1895-1966) from Valga, who won the gold medal in weightlifting with a result of 257.5 kg in the men’s lightweight class (men under 67.5 kg) at the VII Olympic Games in Antwerp.
Alfred Neuland fought in World War I and the Estonian War of Independence, he worked as a businessman, a weightlifting coach and a sports referee and he published several articles on weightlifting. A monument is erected in his hometown, Valga, and memorial competitions are organized in his honour. This year marks the 125th birthday of the first Estonian Olympic winner.
The stamps have been enclosed in a special plastic casing to prevent oxidation.
