Austria 2019 Crypto Stamp

Austria Post has issued a special stamp reflecting the use of modern day technology for Crypto-Stamp based on the open source programmable block chain Ethereum with its own cryptocurrency called Ether (ETH).

The stamp has been issued on a Plastic Card with a QR code and a tearaway part with scratch off printing. 

The stamp set comes in two parts. As pictured below, the left part, with a 3D Hologram unicorn logo associated with Ethereum, functions as a standard stamp that can be used to send mail. The right section, on the other hand, contains the credentials used to authenticate the crypto collectible via blockchain ( a special kind of decentralized data storage). This defines a digital Wallet/purse in which this stamp is stored as  “a virtual collector’s item”   which is exclusively owned by the wallet owner.

The brand block is in the form of a bank card. The right side of the block contains all credentials hidden under scratch layers. The holder of the Wallet-related access code as well as another attached code, the "Secret Word List", thus has the digital Crypto stamp. If the digital version of the stamp is sold or transferred from one wallet to another, the transaction is fully documented in the blockchain.

A limited 150,000 unit run of five different virtual/crypto stamps colors– black, red, blue, yellow, black – allows the owner to use a physical stamp, but then save its image in their wallet. The distribution is as follows: 1,500 red stamps; yellow, 10,000; blue, 20,000; green, 40,000; black, 78,500. The stamps retail for 6.90 Euro, meaning the entire project will bring in just over $1 million. The color represents the "Virtual image of the stamps" and not the physical image of the stamp

New Zealand 2019 Space Pioneers 3D Lenticular Stamp

To commemorate the 50 years of the Moon Landing and to celebrate the New Zealand Space Pioneers, New Zealand Post has issued a special 3D Lenticular mini sheet which celebrates the world’s achievements in space exploration. 

The four stamps feature spacecraft Voyager 1, which reached interstellar space; the Space Shuttle, America’s reusable spacecraft which launched many satellites including the Space Station; the first Moon walk on 20 July 1969; and the lightweight craft Apollo Lunar Module, used to transport astronauts to the Moon’s surface. The Solar System, a comet, nebula and the galaxy with exoplanets, and New Zealand's history-making Electron rocket by Rocket Lab form the background to the stamp sheet.

New Zealand 2019 New Zealand Space Pioneers Stamp with Meteorite Rock Dust

To commemorate the 50 years of the Moon Landing and to celebrate the New Zealand Space Pioneers, New Zealand Post has issued a set of  stamps printed with meteorite dust.

The stamps are sprinkled with real star dust, collected from a meteorite found in Morocco, and celebrate six New Zealanders who have helped to advance the world’s knowledge about space and space sciences:

Beatrice Hill Tinsley: Pioneer astrophysicist Beatrice Hill Tinsley was a world leader in modern cosmology. Her 114 published papers are regularly cited today, showing her ongoing contribution to understanding the Universe. An asteroid, a mountain and a prize that recognises her outstanding research contribution to astronomy or astrophysics, of an exceptionally creative or innovative character, are named after her.

Charles Gifford: Charles Gifford was New Zealand’s most outstanding astronomer in the first half of the last century. He mathematically showed that the Moon’s craters were made by meteorite impact.

Sir William Pickering, ONZ KBE: A pioneer of the world’s space exploration, William Pickering directed the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in the United States for 22 years. On the cover of TIME magazine twice, he launched America’s first spacecraft, was instrumental in the success of the Apollo programme and the Voyager missions and retired after seeing Viking 1 on its way to Mars. Sir William also has a New Zealand mountain named after him.

Alan Gilmore and Pamela Kilmartin: Alan Gilmore and Pamela Kilmartin track near-Earth asteroids, objects that might be a threat to Earth in the long term. In the course of this work they have discovered 41 minor planets, a comet and a nova.


Albert Jones, OBE: One of the greatest visual observers of all time, Albert Jones monitored stars that change brightness called variable stars. With a telescope he built in 1948, he made more than 500,000 brightness estimates, more than anyone in history, and discovered two comets and a supernova (SN1987a).

Central African Republic Postal Authorities in a special issue for the Wuhan China 2019 Stamp exhibition in conjunction with a Chinese Dealer has issued a 5 Set of wooden miniature sheet featuring Chinese Folk Classics Novels- Romance of the 3 Kingdoms , Dream of the Red Chamber, Outlaws of the Marsh , Journey to the West and The Legend of the Condors.

The 4 sheets are numbered 95 while one sheet is numbered 145. Its is said that only 180 numbered each set was issued.
