Austria 2021 Mini FFP2 Mask Stamp

Austria Post to commemorate the use of FFP (“Filtering Face Piece”) in public places - introduced since January 2021 in the midst of the Corona Covid 19 pandemic, has issued a mini replica of the FFP2 mask. The FFP2 masks are particle-filtering half masks with a higher protective effect than fabric or surgical masks. 

For the manufacture of the mini replica stamps two layers of fleece were embroidered in the form of an FFP2 mask and then cut out with laser technology, the loose loops were also embroidered and attached to it in a complex process. The embroidery emphasizes the characteristic details of the mask such as the folds and the nose clip. The postage stamps uses the same material used in the manufacture of the original FFP2 masks.
