TAAF 2018 20th Anniversary of the Madrid Protocol

The Protocol to the Antarctic Treaty for the Protection of the Antarctic Environment or Madrid Protocol, signed in Madrid on 4 October 1991, entered into force on 14 January 1998. Since 2004, there have been 32 States Parties to this protocol : Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, South Africa, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile, China, Ecuador, Spain, United States, Finland, France, Greece, India, Italy, Japan, Norway, New Zealand, Netherlands, Peru, Poland, Republic of Korea, R Czech Republic, Romania, United Kingdom, Russia, Sweden, Ukraine and Uruguay.
On the Occasion of the 20th Anniversary of the Madrid Protoco, La Poste France has issued a special miniature sheet featuring a family of Penguins with the bellies of the parent penguins on the Madrid Protocol sheet being flocked.
