Israel 1973 Jerusalem International Stamp Exhibition - Ancient Coins with Embossed MS
Issue date - 21 August 1973
The Jerusalem International Stamp Exhibition was scheduled for 21 August 1973 but due to Yom Kippur war it was postponed to 25th March 1974.
Each stamp shows smaller the FIRST postal stamps of Israel, issued in 1948 before the name "Israel" was chosen for the state. These 1948 stamps show the ancient Hebrew coin, with words "Hebrew Post". Denomination for each stamp is in Israeli Liras, before it was changed to Shekels.
The miniature sheet features and embossed version of an Ancient coin.
